Domestic or Commercial?

Which should you choose when setting up the project?

Domestic clients are those having work carried out which is not connected with running a business. Usually, this means arranging for work to be carried out on the property where you or a family member lives.

A commercial client is an organisation or individual for whom a construction project is carried out in connection with a business, whether the business operates for profit or not. Examples of commercial clients are schools, retailers and landlords.

The default setting for all new Projects on Mosaic is "Commercial" - you should decide which your Project is and set this at the outset, it cannot be changed once you have launched the Project so do make sure you have the correct setting.

Domestic Projects generally require fewer collaborators and fewer documents in relation to CDM, hence in Mosaic they only take 1 Project Slot from your allowance.

Commercial Projects which are generally larger and take longer to complete use up 2 Slots in your Project allowance.
